Ahh, surgery.  April hasn’t been under the knife since her tonsillectomy allllll the way back 2005.  Thankfully, this hasn’t been quite so bad.

After suffering with an “old” knee since age 18, April finally approached the quack.  After X-rays and unsuccessful physical therapy, an arthroscopy was performed on Monday, March 3.  The arthroscopy (or scope) itself is simply looking around, but the good Dr. Ahlfeld was kind enough to go ahead and debride the cartilage that he said looked like “crab meat” and perform a lateral release.  The release is snipping the tissue that pulls on the kneecap.  Normally it’s needed, but April’s was on overdrive, actually displacing the cap.
