So we hear that the folks back in the UK are sick of the sound of James Blunt right now. His hugely successful "Back to Bedlam" album has been overplayed on the radio and has people retuning the dial. In the US, however, he is still relatively unknown despite his signature "You're Beautiful" track getting some air play. Phil had already had th
e pleasure of experiencing the Bluntmeister at Glastonbury 2005 and was eager to see how the artist had developed since the huge success. The show was held at the Conseco Fieldhouse, in downtown Indianapolis. This venue, home of the Indiana Pacers basketball team, is not the best amphitheater for a performance because of it's massive size, but James Blunt filled it up with wonderful enthusiasm. The performance (of nearly every song on the album, plus some new stuff) was hugely entertaining, brilliantly produced, and had exquisite effects that subtly complimented the music. If the James Blunt tour bus rolls into your town, we suggest you get yourself a ticket.
